THIS PROGRAM IS FOR YOU IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:
Chemistry and microbiology, design and develop healthy food with new processing technologies and content in active and intelligent packaging.
BY STUDYING AT ITESO
You join a community where you collaborate alongside professionals with expertise in food design and processing at the pilot and industrial levels. You acquire a solid formation in food science, food safety, biotechnology and nutrition in order to create new foods with efficient, productive and sustainable manufacturing processes. You gain experience with processes of analysis, development and innovation in specialized food labs. You explore and transform the food processing field by participating in research and consulting projects and making proposals to solve real-world problems of malnutrition, waste of agricultural by-products, non-biodegradable food packaging and food insecurity, among others.
WHAT DO YOU STUDY?
In Food Engineering your work focuses on human health: you learn to characterize, develop, process and innovate nutritional foods that are affordable for all consumers. You study national and international food regulations. You learn to create and improve new packages and more sustainable manufacturing industrial processes, and to carry out innocuousness tests to ensure food safety. Study the national and international food standards. Looking for new uses for products commonly obtained during food processing.
