Food; its characteristics, properties and preparation; health; eating habits; and social well-being.
BY STUDYING AT ITESO
You undertake a plan of studies recognized by the Jesuit University System, the first in the country to offer an undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food Science. The program is backed up by 40 years of prestige and experience, and accredited internationally by the American Dietetic Association. You develop within an educational program that emphasizes hand-on learning in flexible, community-based practice that responds to the dynamic reality of the professional world. You study with academics who are engaged in the field of nutrition and food sciences. You take part in projects to address food and nutrition challenges in industrial cafeterias, communities, the food industry, hospitals and/or health centers, or research.
WHAT DO YOU STUDY?
In Nutrition and Food Sciences you receive a comprehensive education that draws on a number of fields, not just clinical nutrition, so that you can help to modify eating habits in the population and contribute to healthy lifestyles. The program focuses on four basic professional fields: population nutrition, clinical nutrition, food service, and food technology based on the food sciences. These fields are linked to cross-cutting competencies such as research, education, management and consulting.
